Funerals
A funeral marks the close of a human life on earth. It is the opportunity for friends and family to express their grief, to give thanks for the life which has now completed its journey in this world and to commend the person into God's keeping. As far back into history as we can penetrate, human beings seem to have felt the need for a ceremonial leave-taking of those who have died.
At Christ Church Bexleyheath we are here to help and support all those who find themselves bereaved.
If we are taking the funeral service we seek to personalise the service to meet the specific needs of each family. The Funeral service can be in our church or the crematorium chapel and can include favourite music choices, poems, prayers, hymns etc.
We work in partnership with all of the Funeral Directors locally here in Bexleyheath to ensure the best possible experience for families.
We consider the taking of funerals to be one of the most important aspects of our work, and an enormous privilege.

Memorial Service
We hold a special annual Memorial Service on the first Sunday of November each year in memory of those who have died in the past year.
At this service we read out the names of those who have passed, and during the service families can light a candle and place roses on the altar in memory of those they love but see no more.
For further information about the Memorial Service please contact the Parish Administrator.
